Death in Venice

Summer day dress in white linen composed by dress and jacket made up entirely of cotton trimmed with lace entre-deux and embroidery soutache white. Bib with guimpe in white macrame lace. Straw hat trimmed by ivory taffeta ribbons in ivory and beige, flowers in various shades of ivory and a veil of tulle-maline.

  • Morte a Venezia incontrò molta resistenza in Italia in fase di produzione in quanto nessuno era disposto a rischiare del denaro per un film "che trattava di un caso di pederastia in un artista senescente". Visconti si rivolse oltreoceano, dove fu appoggiato dalla Warner Bros.
  • Del periodo di preparazione di Morte a Venezia restano tracce nello special televisivo Alla ricerca di Tadzio, che documenta le ricerche dell'attore, fatte in Scandinavia e nei paesi dell'Europa Orientale.
  • Su consiglio di Umberto Tirelli, Piero Tosi scelse come sua assistente Gabriella Pescucci. Luchino Visconti le impartì una lezione sui guanti bianchi di filo dei camerieri, indossati solo nelle case private e non al ristorante.
